The wind project Popsko foresees the construction of a wind park with 16 wind generators. They will be divided in two separate strings with 9 and 7 turbines respectively with a total capacity of up to 48 MW. The wind project plans for the use of wind turbines with tower height of up to 105m and diameter of the rotor blades of up to 90 m.
The single wind generators are designed in such distances from each other that no turbulences and mutual influence can appear. Servitude areas are secured and the grid connection to a 20 kV line is determined.
The wind data shows very good wind potential with an average wind speed of 5.5 - 6 m/sec and prevailing wind direction – northeast and southwest. The wind measurements are being conducted with two wind measuring devices at a height of 30 m, produced and calibrated by NRG Systems (USA), placed at an altitude of 775 m and 705 m.
The estimated total annual electricity production of the wind project Popsko adds up to about 84 364 MWh.
The wind project Popsko was awarded an
Investment Class A certificate by the Invest Bulgaria Agency.
