The wind project Chal foresees the construction of a wind park with 32 wind generators. They will be divided in four separate strings. The wind generators will have a total capacity of up to 96 MW. The wind project plans for the use of wind turbines with tower height of up to 105m and diameter of the rotor blades of up to 90 m.
The single wind generators are designed in such distances from each other that no turbulences and mutual influence can appear. Servitude areas are secured.
The electricity grid connection will be completed with the construction of new 110/20 kV substation. The produced energy will be transferred to the existing 110 kV line “Potochnitsa” through a new 110 kV line from the newly built substation “Chal”. The grid connection will be accomplished to the line “Studen kladenets – Krumovgrad”.
The wind data shows very good wind potential with an average wind speed of 5-7 m/sec and prevailing wind direction – north and south. The wind measurements are being conducted with two wind measuring devices at a height of 30 m, produced and calibrated by NRG Systems (USA), placed at an altitude of 823 m and 606 m.
The project was awarded Investment Class A certificate by the Invest Bulgaria Agency.
